The Ohio Department of Education is committed to maximizing the public's access to important data regarding Ohio's education institutions that train teachers. To that end, two reports are issued annually: 1) the Title II higher education act annual report which is submitted in response to Section 207 of the Higher Education Act, and 2) The Report on the Quality of Ohio Institutions for the Preparation of Teachers.
The federal report, which is available by clicking here, contains information from the 50 states including Praxis II data. The Ohio Report can be accessed at this site.
The Report on the Quality of Ohio Institutions for the Preparation of Teachers 2008 contains three sections:
- An Overview, which provides summary information about the teacher preparation institutions, Praxis II cohort summary data, benchmarks, best practices in teacher preparation, number of individuals recommended for licensure and plans for increasing the number of teachers in science, mathematics and foreign languages. - Institutions of Higher Education (IHE) Survey Data, which contains information in spreadsheet format on faculty and student demographics, entrance/exit requirements, Praxis II requirements, program requirements, data specific to the teacher preparation program and benchmark data. - IHE Program Statistics contains total enrollment and total recommended for licensure by license type. Click here for the Excel spreadsheet.
