Focus Schools Requirements

Focus schools include Title I served schools with the highest subgroup proficiency and graduation rate gaps that have not made sufficient progress in decreasing those gaps over three years.  They are identified by having school subgroups with the highest gaps (proficiency and graduation rates) that have not made sufficient progress over time in reducing those gaps.  These schools will keep the focus school designation for three years unless they make sufficient progress to meet exit criteria requirements.

Alert Schools

Alert Schools include non-Title I served schools with the highest subgroup proficiency and graduation rate gaps that have not made sufficient progress in decreasing those gaps over three years.  They are identified using the same  criteria as focus schools.  The alert school designation applies to these buildings for only the 2012-2013 school year.

Alert Schools Requirements

Improvement Schools

For the 2012-2013 school year, improvement title I schools are any Title I served buildings that are identified in school improvement status (including Delay) and not already identified as Priority, Focus or Alert schools.
