Nationally, the energy industry is facing a workforce crisis with 40% to 50% expected to retire in positions related to technical maintenance, distribution and engineering.

Thanks, in part, to new technology, the potential of Ohio's Marcellus and Utica shale deposits plays a critical role in this scenario. The oil/gas industry is creating high-paying jobs in eastern Ohio with supportive collaboration among industry, academia and the state.
