Submit grade 3 paper testing resolution for 2020-2021 by July 1

Ohio Senate Bill 216, specifically Ohio Revised Code Section 3301.0711(G)(4), allows districts the choice to administer paper or online tests only for the third grade state assessments, beginning in the 2019-2020 school year. Under this legislation, a district board of education or governing authority must make the choice to use paper tests, and it must submit a board or governing authority resolution to the Ohio Department of Education.

WebXam Alternative: Ensuring Career-Technical Assurance Guide college credit

At the recommendation of Chancellor Randy Gardner and Superintendent of Public Instruction Paolo DeMaria, the Ohio departments of Higher Education and Education, along with other stakeholders, have developed guidance for Career-Technical Assurance Guide (CTAG) credit for students who will not be able to complete the WebXams associated with their secondary career-technical courses.

The Ohio Suicide Prevention Foundation is offering a free, hour-long, evidence-based virtual suicide prevention training for Ohio’s K-12 staff. This training can be helpful for staff who provide virtual instruction and virtual check-ins with students.

Operation Graduation 2.0 Design Labs: New events scheduled

Ohio’s new graduation requirements will affect every Ohio high school. Personalized graduation plans that emphasize career readiness are becoming essential to earning a high school diploma in Ohio. Following the release of final guidance, and to support schools as they create policies and graduation plans for at-risk students, three more Operation Graduation 2.0 Design Labs are planned.
