Award designation: Looking for OhioMeansJobs-Readiness Seal earners from the class of 2018

4/15/2019

The Ohio Department of Education, in partnership with the Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services, has developed a designation in the OhioMeansJobs Student Backpack for students who earn the OhioMeansJobs-Readiness Seal. Educators can add this designation to the student’s account once the student has met all the requirements for the OhioMeansJobs-Readiness Seal.

In a continued effort to connect businesses with qualified students, we are now working to award this designation retroactively to students who earned the OhioMeansJobs-Readiness Seal from the graduating class of 2018.

As student accounts automatically transition from K-12 to adult jobseeker accounts upon high school graduation, this designation transitions with them. Potential employers can search for students who have:
1) The designation turned on in Reporting Tools; and
2) Completed and activated a resume in OhioMeansJobs.com.

If you know of or still have contact with any students who earned the OhioMeansJobs-Readiness Seal from the graduating class of 2018, please have them contact the Career Connections team at the Ohio Department of Education to have this designation turned on in their OhioMeansJobs accounts. Email the Career Connections team directly at CareerConnections@education.ohio.gov

Also, those working with the class of 2019 should watch for the updated, soon-to-be-released reporting guide for completing the OhioMeansJobs-Readiness Seal.
