Summer Food Service Program application deadline is May 1
Every summer when school ends, millions of children and teens are at risk of going hungry because they no longer have access to the free and reduced-price meals they received when they were in school. The USDA created the Summer Food Service Program to cover this summer meal gap and the Ohio Department of Education Office for Child Nutrition administers the Summer Food Service Program for Ohio. Your help is requested to make participation in summer meals a priority and to ensure that those do not go hungry this summer. You can learn more about the USDA Summer Food Service Program here. Application materials are available here. For questions or additional information, contact Mary Forster, SFSP Coordinator/Consultant at (614) 752-1460 or Erin Bagley at (614) 387-2284.
