Three Ohio Schools earn Green Ribbon Schools designation


Three Ohio schools were among 48 schools nationwide honored as 2014 U.S. Department of Education Green Ribbon Schools. Milton-Union Exempt Village School in West Milton, West Geauga High School in Chesterland and Metro Catholic School in Cleveland were selected for 2014 honors from a pool of candidates nominated by individual states. Kenston High School in Chagrin Falls was honored as a U.S. Department of Education Green Ribbon School in 2013.

The U.S. Department of Education Green Ribbon Schools award honors schools and districts for their exemplary efforts to reduce environmental impact and utility costs, promote better health and ensure effective environmental education, including civics and green career pathways. The Ohio Department of Education will call for 2015 nominations in the coming months.
