Student applications open for Truth Action Summit in July

Truth, the national campaign aimed at eliminating teen smoking in the U.S., urges students who want to make positive impacts on their local communities to apply to attend the Truth Action Summit in Cincinnati July 16-18.
From those applications, Truth will choose participants for a three-day, all expenses paid summit to prepare for its October National Day of Action. Summit participants will learn about developing leadership skills and will:

  • Connect with fellow leaders who are committed to creating lasting social change;
  • Enjoy access to networks of experienced activists and change-makers;
  • Receive training and guidance on how to mobilize for the 2019 National Day of Action; and
  • Learn and practice social media outreach.
Truth will cover the full cost of travel, lodging and meals for all accepted applicants. Applicants must be 14-18 years old before July 1, be enrolled in high school or a GED program and live no more than 220 miles from the Cincinnati summit location. The organization also will give consideration to applicants outside the mileage restriction. Truth must receive applications by 6 p.m. on May 24. Details and registration are available on the Truth website.
