Training scheduled for April 18: Charter Schools Program Round 3 request for applications

The Charter Schools Program subgrant competition this year will have two potential funding streams. Those who may apply include newly operating community schools in the 2019-2020 school year or schools opened for the first time in 2018-2019 with preliminary agreements or executed contracts with eligible sponsors. And, for the first time, the Department can award Expansion grants to schools that meet the high-quality definition and have eligible sponsors.

Summer is coming! Become a Summer Food Service Program sponsor or site

With the help of several sponsoring agencies and stakeholders, the Summer Food Service Program works to feed thousands of children in Ohio. Since 2014, Ohio has increased participation in the program by 10 percent. Despite these numbers, many Ohio parents and caregivers are forced to make difficult decisions daily to provide for their families. In many cases, this leaves Ohio’s most vulnerable citizens, our children and youth, struggling with hunger daily.

New career-tech automotive resource: Access vehicle knowledge from ChiltonLibrary through INFOhio

Partnering with Libraries Connect Ohio, INFOhio has licensed access to the ChiltonLibrary on behalf of all Ohio preK-12 schools, giving students and teachers free access to the ChiltonLibrary online. The licensing was funded in part by a federal IMLS Library Services and Technology Act grant through the State Library of Ohio. Connect Ohio partners — INFOhio, OhioLINK and OPLIN — provided additional funding.
