As we begin another school year, it is important to refresh students and staff on school emergency procedures. Schools and districts must complete one emergency management test annually and report it to the Ohio Department of Education.
The Center for P-20 Safety and Security recently added more resources to SaferSchools.Ohio.gov to help educators meet this requirement, including a breakdown of the types of tests schools can complete and seven steps to successfully completing an emergency management test.
The center’s staff is happy to answer questions. Call (614) 644-2641 or email SaferSchools@DPS.Ohio.gov.
