Recently approved credentials for 2018-2019; Cyber Security Pathway Intent and Senior-Only Industry Credential Program Intent deadline Sept. 21

To meet the need of the state’s evolving workforce, Ohio is offering cyber security courses for the 2018-2019 school year as a new pathway in the information technology career field. Since the courses were finalized after the March 1, 2018, CTE-26 application deadline, districts that plan to implement a Career Technical Education Cybersecurity (N4) Pathway for school year 2018-2019 must complete the Cyber Security Program Intent Form.
The intent form is not an application for program approval. Again, the deadline to complete the form is Sept. 21. Once the Fiscal Year 2020 CTE-26 application window opens on Nov. 1, districts must complete the full CTE-26 application.
New industry-recognized credentials were added to the approved list in July. To provide the opportunity for students to receive the new credentials through the Senior-Only Industry Credential Program for the 2018-19 school year, districts must complete the Senior-Only Industry Credential Intent Form.
