Replacement for Praxis II series begins in September
Registration is now open for those who wish to take one or more of the Ohio Assessments for Educators beginning in September. These new assessments replace the Praxis II series as the required Ohio educator licensure assessments, except for world languages. The new tests assess candidates who are seeking initial Ohio educator licenses or licensure in a new area. Assessments in 28 fields are now available, with more expected in early 2014. Those who are seeking licensure in world languages will continue to use the oral proficiency interview and writing proficiency test from the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages. For the complete list of available assessments and testing sites, please visit the Ohio Assessment for Educators website.
