Ohio Campaigners for Hope: co-op offers support for implementing Kognito suicide prevention training at schools
The Ohio Suicide Prevention Foundation and Kognito have partnered to build an online professional learning community focused on implementing the Kognito K-12 suicide prevention programs on school campuses. Through three one-hour “lunch and learn” meetings, participants will talk about suicide and its prevention and hear proven success stories shared by guest speakers. Meetings are scheduled for Jan. 12, Jan. 26 and Feb. 9, from noon to 1 p.m.
Beside benefiting from a support network of fellow educators, participants will learn how Kognito complies with the Ohio’s Jason Flatt Act (HB 543). They also will develop skills and strategies stemming from Kognito and receive certificates recognizing their schools’ dedication to suicide prevention.
To register for the Ohio Campaigners for Hope Learning Co-Op, complete the online application form by Dec. 23. Registrants will receive confirmation after the holidays.
For questions about the program, email Shawna Hite-Jones or call (614) 429-1528, ext. 402.
