Ohio Department of Education and Governor’s Office of Workforce Transformation announce Innovative Workforce Incentive Program

The Ohio Department of Education and Governor’s Office of Workforce Transformation have announced a list of industry-recognized credentials that provides $34 million in funding opportunities to districts under the new Innovative Workforce Incentive Program. Governor Mike DeWine and the Ohio General Assembly developed the program to create more opportunities for students to earn in-demand, industry-recognized credentials.

Cleveland Browns congratulate students for attendance achievements

As part of the Cleveland Browns Foundation’s partnership with the Ohio Department of Education on the Get 2 School, Stay in the Game! Network, Cleveland Browns player Kareem Hunt and Browns mascot Chomps visited students at Mound STEM School in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District to celebrate and encourage regular school attendance.

K-12 Prevention Education Initiative

The Ohio Department of Education and Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services are partnering to help Ohio districts, schools and community partners conduct self-assessments. The aim is for districts to identify needs, so they can implement prevention programs that reduce risky student behaviors, including abuse, suicide, bullying and other harmful behaviors, and build resiliency in students.

Principal Value-Added data now available

Superintendents and their designees now can access principal Value-Added data. Districts that are piloting OTES 2.0 should use the Ohio Evaluation System (OhioES), while those that are not piloting should continue to use the electronic Teacher and Principal Evaluation System (eTPES).
