Please verify administrator roles before school begins
As districts update their information in the Ohio Educational Directory System Redesign (OEDS-R), the department asks that superintendents and OEDS-R administrators take action soon to verify information needed for several important upcoming activities:
Evaluation system – Please verify the accuracy of role assignments and email addresses for superintendents and superintendent-designees in OEDS-R by July 31.The department will download these email addresses from OEDS-R on Aug. 1 for important messages regarding login information and training for the electronic Teacher and Principal Evaluation System. Educational service centers will provide training and set-up sessions for both new and returning users. The training sessions will guide participants in understanding recent changes to the evaluation system and help them in granting access to principals and teachers. Superintendents whose roles are assigned in OEDS-R by Aug. 1 will receive further information from email@example.com.
Ohio School Report Card – The roles of superintendents and principals that are designated by Aug. 15 in OEDS-R will appear on the 2013-2014 Ohio School Report Cards. Also, please update any changes in grade spans served by each building by this date as well. For any changes and updates to this information that need to be made beyond Aug. 15, please contact Jackie Seward, Office of Accountability with the information that should appear on the report cards.
Value-Added data – The department is creating two new roles in OEDS-R for the individuals who administer EVAAS accounts at districts and buildings. As part of this process, the department is assigning roles (either EVAAS – district administrator or EVAAS – school administrator) in the system to the individuals who performed these functions last year. These two new role assignments will be visible within OEDS-R within the next one to two weeks. As districts make updates to OEDS-R, they will need to verify by Aug. 15 the names and email addresses of the individuals assigned to the two EVAAS roles, and in some cases, make new role assignments. Local EVAAS administrators set up and maintain accounts for their teachers and administrators, so they can access their Value-Added data.
