Important deadline for Purple Star School award program

The Purple Star School award for military-friendly schools honors buildings that show a major commitment to serving students and families connected to our nation’s military. Awardees receive a special recognition to display in their buildings. The Purple Star Advisory Board determines whether a school is eligible for a Purple Star School award. The advisory board was formed by the Ohio departments of Education, Higher Education, Veterans Services and the Ohio Adjutant General, K-12 education partners, and veteran and active military families.

Round four of Purple Star School selection opens Aug. 1 and closes at 5 p.m. Oct. 12. The Purple Star School program will announce recipients in mid-November. More program details, including how to apply, are available here.
