Guidance on integrating coursework and awarding simultaneous credit now available


Districts, traditional schools, community schools and chartered nonpublic schools are allowed by state law to integrate learning standards from multiple subject areas into a single course that yields simultaneous credits. Integrated coursework benefits students by creating authentic learning experiences, deepening student understanding of subject areas and potentially creating space in students’ schedules for more learning.
This document outlines processes and considerations to help schools develop integrated courses. It also contains guidance for awarding credit for high school students to satisfy Ohio’s graduation requirements.
