Ohio PTA requests survey input from parents on Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) report cards

The Ohio Parent Teacher Association recently received a two-year grant from the National Parent Teacher Association to help educate parents about the power of education data. The grant’s goals focus on:

  • Educating parents and the public about the value of education data and why it is critical to drive change both locally and statewide;
  • Ensuring parents and families have access to education data; and
  • Building the capacity of parents to read, understand and interpret key education data through avenues like state report cards.
To launch this initiative, the Ohio PTA is asking for public feedback from parents on their understanding of the ESSA report card. Survey results will be used to establish guidelines for future grant planning.
