Equity for Each grant deadline extended
One of Ohio’s greatest education challenges remains equity in education achievement for each child, particularly each child included in a special population as defined in Perkins V. To increase equitable access, engagement and outcomes for Ohio’s career-technical education students, Ohio is committed to helping local recipients identify “equity gaps” in local enrollment and performance data, especially in career field pathways aligned to high-skill, high-wage or in-demand occupations.
In March, Ohio announced it will allocate funds through a competitive grant using Perkins V Reserve Funds to encourage innovative and advanced approaches to addressing these gaps. Since then, the Department has extended the deadline for applications to June 30, 2020.
This grant helps recipients and the Department identify and promote best practices to improve equity in career-technical education delivery. The grant program prioritizes applications that emphasize collaboration between secondary and postsecondary institutions using strategies that focus on the promotion or expansion of programs of study aligned with state-identified high-skill, high-wage or in-demand occupations. Additionally, the grant will support local recipients in their ongoing development and alignment of local data collection systems to improve data-driven decision-making and strategic planning for special populations and subgroups.
Submit applications in the CCIP by June 30. For answers to questions, email Becky Crance.
