Workshop on the Maker movement and its learning opportunities, July 19


The Ohio Facilities Construction Commission is hosting The Power of Making Workshop, July 19 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the PAST Foundation in Columbus.
From tinkering to hacking and more, the workshop will offer an in-depth look at Making and its impact on learners. Participants will hear from educators who are integrating Making into their teaching practices and curriculum. 

Participants will explore Making and how it can support learning, including: 

  • What the Maker movement is;
  • National and local educational institutions successfully incorporating Making and learning;
  • Visiting a school Maker space and seeing the specific impacts on learning; and
  • Hearing research on the outcomes of Making and learning.
