Web-based survey offers data on youth health and safety

6/3/2019

The Ohio Healthy Youth Environments Survey (OHYES!) is a free, voluntary, web-based tool that questions students to measure school climates, other environmental factors and health behaviors that affect youth health and safety.

OHYES! is available to all Ohio schools to give to students in grades 7 through 12. Participating school districts have access to district-, county-, state- and, in some cases, national-level data on these factors. Schools, community coalitions and community public health and safety networks can use the data to make informed decisions on how to support school and community programs and policies.

Superintendents will be receiving an email in the next few weeks from OHYES!, inviting their districts to participate and containing links to registration for fall 2019.

OHYES! is a collaborative effort of the Ohio departments of Education, Health, and Mental Health and Addiction Services and representatives from the Ohio National Guard, higher education, juvenile courts, foundations and community service providers.
