Reminder: Deadline for Purple Star School award program is April 5

The Purple Star School award for military-friendly schools honors schools that show a major commitment to serving students and families connected to our nation’s military. Awardees receive a special recognition to display in their buildings. The Purple Star Advisory Board determines whether a school is eligible for a Purple Star School award. The advisory board includes members from the Ohio departments of Education, Higher Education, Veterans Services and the Ohio Adjutant General, K-12 education partners and veteran and active military families.

Round five of the Purple Star School selection closes at 5 p.m. April 5. The Purple Star School program will announce recipients in early May. More program details, including how to apply, are available here.
