Applications open for the statewide Ohio Youth Leadership Forum
For students with disabilities interested in learning leadership and advocacy skills, Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities now is accepting applications to attend the annual statewide Ohio Youth Leadership Forum. The forum is a five-day leadership development experience for high school juniors and seniors with disabilities.
Student delegates learn about career choices, work in groups to develop personal leadership plans, enjoy opportunities to interact with professionals with disabilities, and participate in extracurricular group activities. Delegates learn valuable skills that help them become work ready or more prepared to enter postsecondary education.
The event will be held in Columbus, July 19-23 at the Ohio State School for the Blind.
Find applications and more information about the statewide forum on the Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities’ website.
New this year, Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities has contracted through the Ohio Statewide Independent Living Council (OSILC) to provide regional Youth Leadership Forums in Columbus, Dayton, Canton and Toledo. These regional events will share the same programming as the statewide forum without the overnight component. For contact information for each regional event, please visit the OSILC website.
