“Each Child Means Each Child: Ohio’s Plan to Improve Learning Experiences and Outcomes for Students with Disabilities” outlines recommendations, tactics and action steps to improve the educational experiences of Ohio’s 270,000 students with disabilities enrolled in public schools. In alignment with Each Child, Our Future, it uses data to illustrate how implementing the plan’s recommendations can improve student outcomes.

Seeking nominations for volunteer membership on the Ohio Dyslexia Committee

Recent legislation established the Ohio Dyslexia Committee. Among other duties, the committee will be responsible for creating guidance for universal dyslexia screening and intervention and prescribing the number of clock hours for dyslexia-related professional development for educators. The Ohio departments of Education and Higher Education are accepting nominations for committee membership through March 31.

On March 11 at 3 p.m., tune in to this live social media broadcast to hear how two school districts—the Ohio School for the Deaf and Cleveland Metropolitan Schools—are using whole child approaches to education. In addition, the Lebron James Family Foundation and I Promise School will share their focus on supporting the whole child through a social-emotional based curriculum, wraparound services and supporting the whole family.
