Celebrate national physical activity month with free activity videos
May is National Physical Fitness and Sports Month, and in conjunction with this opportunity to renew students’ commitments to a healthy, active lifestyle, Ohio’s First Lady Karen Kasich has partnered with Nationwide Children’s Hospital to offer a free activity-boosting resource to Ohio’s elementary schools. Time For 10! is a series of five, 10-minute videos designed for daily use in the classroom—but can be used anywhere in the school.
The program makes guided exercise accessible to Ohio schools, with the goal of improving students’ health and classroom productivity. “We know that even short bursts of activity can improve a child’s fitness and focus,” Mrs. Kasich said. “Activity breaks during the school day can help a student feel better and learn better, too.”
Time For 10! is available in three options:
Core program partners also include the Ohio Department of Education and Ohio Department of Health.
