Local equity planning rubrics now available
During the 2018 fiscal planning year, districts and schools worked to ensure poor and minority students have equitable access to excellent educators. This required equity planning, in alignment with the Every Student Succeeds Act, included identifying equity gaps, conducting a root-cause analysis and developing strategies to close these gaps. Additionally, two planning items addressed policies and procedures to verify state certification and licensure of teachers and paraprofessionals.
The Department completed a review of submitted Fiscal Year 2018 Local Equitable Access Plans, reported under the Equitable Access to Excellent Educators Component tab within the Comprehensive Continuous Improvement Plan (CCIP) system. A scored rubric recognizes strengths in local plans and identifies potential areas for improvement. Keep in mind that the rubric is offered as technical assistance to inform and bolster ongoing and future equity efforts.
The scored rubric can be accessed through a link that was emailed on May 22-23 to personnel with the following assigned roles in the Ohio Educational Directory System (OEDS):

- Data Entry Planning – CCIP;
- Data Entry Funding – CCIP.
