For curriculum directors, teachers and school counselors
Educators needed for Career Connections work group
The Ohio Department of Education is offering grade-level strategies to connect learning with real-world jobs. As part of the Ohio Means Jobs state initiative, Career Connection learning strategies will be integrated into regular classroom instruction. Teachers, counselors and administrators across elementary, middle, high and career-tech schools with various academic and technical content areas are invited to join a work group that will meet to identify and develop resources to support educators with classroom implementation (rubrics, lesson plans, student worksheets and samples of student work). Participants need experience and background in career-based learning as integrated content, rather than a separate activity. Commitment includes five 60-minute phone or Web-based meetings and approximately three full-day, face-to-face work sessions before June 30, 2014.
For more information, email Carolyn George, Career Connections coordinator, at email@example.com. Deadline to submit interest in joining the group is Nov. 11. Here is information on Career Connections.
