School safety training grants available through Attorney General’s Office
Last week, Attorney General Mike DeWine announced the office is awarding $12 million in grants to help enhance safety and security at schools across the state.
All Ohio public schools, chartered nonpublic schools and schools operated by county boards of developmental disabilities are eligible to receive the greater of $2,500 or $5.65 per student to go toward school safety programs and training.
A full list of grant awards can be found on the Ohio Attorney General's website. Attorney General DeWine mailed a letter to each school with instructions on how to access the funds for use between Oct. 1, 2018, and June 30, 2019.
Districts and schools are encouraged to visit the Safer Schools Ohio webpage for more resources, including the free SaferOH tip line.
