Bullying prevention – what can school administrators do?
Monday, Oct. 2, is World Day of Bullying Prevention, a kickoff to a month-long observation of Bullying Prevention Awareness. On the website STOMP Out Bullying, administrators will find suggested activities their schools can do each week to raise awareness, improve school culture and prevent bullying.
October is a good time for administrators to discuss how they can make their required anti-bullying policies and practices up to date and even more effective. Explore the tools available here, including a nine-minute video, the Department’s Model Anti-Bullying Policy and a guidance document that outlines everyone’s role in addressing student incidents. You also will find guidance for developing student action plans, as well as comprehensive national resources.
