Patton College of Education sponsors video contest on teaching

The Gladys W. and David H. Patton College of Education at Ohio University is sponsoring the Why I Teach! video contest. The competition is open to all preK-12 educators in the public education system. The college encourages teachers, either as individuals or teams, to create short YouTube videos about why they are passionate about teaching. The entry deadline is 12 a.m., March 1.

Judges will evaluate the videos on quality, content, overall message and creativity. Contestants are eligible to win $1,000 for first place, $750 for second place, $500 for third place and $250 for fourth place.

The Patton College will host a Teacher Appreciation Gala on May 9 featuring the winning videos. This event is open to the public. For more information, see the contest website or contact Kim Barlag.
