Status update on vision guideline revisions
The Ohio Department of Health is finalizing the approved Vision Screening Requirements and Guidelines for Preschool and School-Aged Children that will take effect with the 2018-2019 school year. Revisions include the requirement for annual reporting of vision screening data, additional approved vision screening equipment, adequate instruction for vision screeners and the inclusion of 11th grade in the screening program. When it completes the guidelines, the agency will make booklets available for distribution to preschools and schools.
