New Ohio Teacher Fellow joins Department of Education

As Mona Al-Hayani winds down her 2019 Ohio Teacher of the Year duties, she is stepping into a new role as the 2020 Ohio Teacher Fellow at the Ohio Department of Education. The concept of a yearlong fellowship following the initial Ohio Teacher of the Year recognition period began in 2018-2019, when 2018 Ohio Teacher of the Year Jonathan Juravich served as the Department’s teacher-in-residence.

Fall regional meetings: What does it take to be a STE(A)M-designated school?

Have you wondered what it takes to be a STE(A)M-designated school? It’s more than just offering extra science and math courses. The Ohio STEM Learning Network and Ohio Department of Education will host four regional meetings for schools that are considering applying for STE(A)M designation. STEAM schools add instruction in the arts to their science, technology, mathematics and engineering (STEM) curricula.
