Ohio Teacher Evaluation System prototype: Submit participation intent by Oct. 12


The Ohio Department of Education will be running an Ohio Teacher Evaluation System (OTES) prototype in collaboration with interested educational service centers beginning the winter of 2018-2019. Participation in the prototype this school year will be limited to no more than one team per ESC, and each participating ESC will identify one district as a partner in this work.
Participation is voluntary and intended to gather preliminary feedback prior to the statewide 2019-2020 pilot. Evaluators and teachers will have the opportunity to provide feedback, receive updates of future implementation efforts and aid in the development of training for the new model.
Interested teams will use the revised evaluation components and associated forms to evaluate identified teachers in their off-cycle evaluation year. Participants will provide feedback on the OTES rubric and use of high-quality student data.
