The recent budget bill authorized two additional graduation options only for students who entered grade 9 between July 1, 2014, and June 30, 2015. These options provide an opportunity for students who do not meet one of the three existing pathways to earn a diploma. These alternative options also apply to students with disabilities. The additional graduation options allow students who have struggled to meet one of the existing graduation pathways to demonstrate that they have the knowledge and skills needed to be successful after high school. Each requirement in the option allows students to demonstrate readiness in some way.
