Data appeal window open for retention data

From Tuesday, Sept. 3, through Thursday, Sept. 5, superintendents and EMIS coordinators should review relevant Third Grade Reading Guarantee reports in the Secure Data Center. If results are incorrect because retention data has been reported inaccurately in EMIS, the superintendent should submit an appeal by the Sept. 5 deadline as described here.
 
The Department will recollect updated retention data from districts with approved appeals through 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6. The Department encourages districts to submit data appeals before the Sept. 5 deadline. Districts that submit appeals early will have more time to resubmit corrected data.
 
The superintendent, EMIS coordinator and superintendent designee can complete the data appeal form. The Department does not consider the form to be officially submitted, however, until the superintendent or designee approves it in the OH|ID portal (formerly SAFE).
