Guidance for schools receiving students displaced by tornadoes

9/3/2019

After 20 tornadoes touched down in the Dayton area in May 2019, the Ohio Department of Education issued Guidance for Ohio Schools Receiving Displaced Students. The Department developed the guide for districts and community schools enrolling students affected by natural disasters because those students may not have permanent addresses, personal identification, records, paperwork and other items typically required for enrollment.

The guide is available on the Department’s website, or contact the Office of Integrated Student Supports for answers to questions at WholeChild@education.ohio.gov or (614) 466-7956.
