What resources are available for training staff on career advising?
The Career Advising Toolkit contains resources that can help districts successfully implement their career advising policies, including Career Connections learning strategies, model curricula, delivery models and student success plans. The toolkit also includes resources for conducting training sessions, such as a training workbook and sample guides for trainees. This is an introductory resource that will help establish common language and expectations.
Please remember that the career advising policy required in Ohio law must be uploaded to the compliance dashboard in SAFE only by superintendents or their designees. The deadline for uploading the 2017 career advising policy is Sept. 30. Policy documents uploaded into the compliance dashboard should reflect a current review date. Find a help document on the User Manuals and Forms tab on the Compliance Dashboard’s Career Advising page.
