Report cards to be released this week

The Ohio School Report Cards are expected to be released later this week. The report cards give parents, community members, educators and policymakers a clear picture of the progress of Ohio’s districts and schools in raising achievement and preparing students for the future.
For the second year, districts and schools will be assigned overall letter grades. They also will receive A-F grades on each of the six report card components and most of the individual measures. The components are Achievement, Gap Closing, Improving At-Risk K-3 Readers, Progress, Graduation Rate and Prepared for Success. The 2019 Guide to Ohio School Report Cards provides an overview and explanation of these key components.
Ohio School Report Cards are not the only measure of the success or accomplishments of a school or district. Talking with parents and neighbors, browsing school and district websites, or visiting schools and meeting educators can provide a more complete picture of students’ educational experiences. Many elements combine to form a teaching and learning community, and Ohio’s districts and schools have many points of pride to share. A lot of great things are happening each day in Ohio’s schools!
