The Ohio Department of Education has launched a new Learning in Ohio website to help educators more easily find useful information related to Ohio’s Learning Standards. The site includes redesigned mathematics and English language arts sections, where users will find resources including suggested learning activities and side-by-side comparisons of the 2010 and revised 2017 standards.

Students can apply to join FEMA’s Youth Preparedness Council

Students now have a new opportunity to make a difference in their communities and areas beyond. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) encourages students in grades 8-11 who have done community service or are interested in emergency preparedness to apply to serve on its Youth Preparedness Council.

Take a few days out of your summer and sign up for the 2017 Project-Based Learning Ohio Institute, July 25-27 on the campus of New Albany-Plain Local Schools near Columbus. The institute is an internationally attended academy that gives teachers a chance to learn and create new ways of educating and engaging students to get them ready for college and careers.
