April 2024 eclipse brings exciting learning opportunities

In just one year, Ohio will experience a total solar eclipse! The coming year is a great opportunity for students and adults to learn about eclipse occurrences. The Department’s website offers resources for the classroom.

Throughout April, the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services is hosting regional meetings for educators to learn about the updated OhioMeansJobs K-12 platform. Each training is available in person or virtually.

High School Tech Internship pilot program accepting applications; learn more at open office hours

The High School Tech Internship pilot program is an opportunity for Ohio employers to receive reimbursement for establishing a recruitment pipeline by hosting high school interns in tech-related roles. The program application is open now. Educational entities can learn more at open office hours April 14 and 28.

Emergency medical waiver applications open May 15-31

Applications for emergency medical waivers are due May 31. The Department grants these for rare circumstances in which students cannot take assessments during the testing window because of medical emergencies.
