College Credit Plus for 2016-2017 now open

College Credit Plus provides Ohio students with the opportunity to earn college credit while still in high school. All students interested in participating in College Credit Plus for the 2016-2017 school year should notify their schools by April 1. Schools must promote this opportunity to their students and families. More information is available here.

PBIS Building Capacity: New train the trainer sessions available

Ohio’s Positive Behavior Intervention and Support Network offers five new regional training opportunities in March and April to train trainers to support implementation in school districts across Ohio. This intense, two-day training will provide participants with in-depth knowledge of the key concepts of Ohio’s PBIS model, as well as strategies for implementation.

Clarification on GED eligibility and attendance for 16- and 17-year-old applicants

A GED applicant who is 16 or 17 years old must remain enrolled in school and maintain an attendance rate of at least 75 percent until either:

  • The test applicant passes all required sections of the GED test; or
  • The test applicant is 18 years old.

The potential applicant must remain enrolled in a school that is approved to grant a high school diploma and supply a current official transcript, in order to be eligible.
