Virginia Ressa

Virginia Ressa is an education program specialist at the Ohio Department of Education, where she focuses on helping schools and educators meet the needs of diverse learners through professional learning. She has served as project coordinator for FIP Your School Ohio since its inception and continues to support the implementation of formative instructional practices statewide. Now a member of the department’s Office for Exceptional Children, Virginia’s work in professional learning includes evidence-based practices, assessment for learning, school improvement and Universal Design for Learning.

Virginia joined the department after 10 years as a middle school teacher and social studies curriculum supervisor. She is a perpetual student, currently completing her doctorate at The Ohio State University with research on the practice of teacher-based teams.
