Virginia Ressa is an education program specialist at the Ohio Department of Education, where she focuses on helping schools and educators meet the needs of diverse learners through professional learning. A member of the Department’s Office for Exceptional Children, Virginia’s work in professional learning includes formative instructional practices, Universal Design for Learning and school improvement, including significant disproportionality and alternate assessment participation.
Virginia joined the Department after 10 years as a middle school teacher and social studies curriculum supervisor. She earned her doctorate in Educational Policy and Leadership at The Ohio State University, with research on the practice of teacher-based teams.
