Anthony Richardson Named to Lead Commission to Improve Lorain City Schools

A leading member of the Lorain community has been named chairman of the new Lorain Academic Distress Commission by State Superintendent Paolo DeMaria.
Anthony Richardson, a Lorain native, is a Civic Affairs and Education program officer for the Nord Family Foundation.
Other members of the commission include Patricia O’Brien, executive director of The Stocker Foundation; Michele Soliz, Ph.D., assistant vice president of Student Success and Inclusion at the University of Toledo; John Monteleone, assistant superintendent at Oberlin City Schools; and Dorinda Hall, academic instructional coach at Lorain City Schools.

Now that the chairperson has been appointed, the commission has 60 days to hire a CEO who will have broad authority to begin developing a plan in partnership with the community to drive continuing improvement of student achievement.
