The Council of Chief State School Officers today announced that four dedicated educators from around the country have been named finalists for the 2020 National Teacher of the Year. The four finalists, in alphabetical order, are Chris Dier, the 2020 Louisiana Teacher of the Year; Leila Kubesch, the 2020 Ohio Teacher of the Year; Tabatha Rosproy, the 2020 Kansas Teacher of the Year; and Linda Rost, the 2020 Montana Teacher of the Year.
State Superintendent of Public Instruction Paolo DeMaria today announced that 94 schools across Ohio will receive the coveted Purple Star Award this school year. The Purple Star designation recognizes schools that demonstrate a major commitment to serving students and families connected to the United States armed forces.
Columbus, OHIO - The Governor’s Office of Workforce Transformation and the Ohio Department of Education today announced the list of industry-recognized credentials eligible for $34 million under the new Innovative Workforce Incentive Program. Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and the Ohio General Assembly developed the program to create more opportunities for students to earn in-demand, industry-recognized credentials.
The State Board of Education and State Superintendent of Public Instruction Paolo DeMaria today recognized 63 districts, 436 schools and 12 Career-Technical Planning Districts for achieving high performance, outstanding progress and momentum for students across Ohio.
The Ohio Department of Education together with the Ohio Department of Higher Education today announced the release of $3 million in grant funding to help high school teachers obtain qualifications to teach college courses in high school as part of the College Credit Plus Program. The funding was allocated in the biennium budget, HB 166.
