The Ohio Department of Education and the Center for Education Policy Research (CEPR) at Harvard University announced the award of $10 million from the U.S. Department of Education’s Institute of Education Sciences (IES).
With the help of numerous sponsoring agencies and stakeholders, the Summer Food Service Program works to feed thousands of children in Ohio. This year, the Ohio Department of Education wants to increase participation in summer meal programs and is actively seeking local nonprofit agencies to participate as sponsors or sites by providing free meals to children.
Today Gov.-elect Mike DeWine announced the release of Ohio’s Inauguration Toolkit, a series of fun activities educators and families can use to help students explore and discover Ohio’s gubernatorial past and present and be part of history in the making on inauguration day.
The State Board of Education of Ohio today recognized 28 districts and 310 schools for earning an overall grade of “A” on the 2017-2018 Ohio School Report Cards. Of that, an elite group of two districts and 57 schools received the All A Award for earning straight A’s.
Throughout Ohio, there are many schools where each and every day students are being challenged, prepared and empowered. Today, Ohio is recognizing 67 schools with a substantial proportion of economically disadvantaged students (40 percent or more) for reaching high academic achievement.
