Ohio high school students now can earn recognition by showing they are prepared to contribute to the workplace and their communities. The OhioMeansJobs-Readiness Seal is a formal designation students can earn on their high school diplomas and transcripts indicating they have the personal strengths, strong work ethic and professional experience that businesses need.
Ohio’s parents and educators have a new resource to help little learners ages 3-5 prepare for school and their futures with the INFOhio Early Learning Portal. The easy-to-navigate site contains more than 50 websites and apps chosen and evaluated by educators and librarians with expertise in early learning and literacy.
As part of ongoing efforts to increase accountability and quality in Ohio’s community school system, the Ohio Department of Education today released the 2016-2017 sponsor evaluations. A change to Ohio law in the recently passed state budget requires the evaluations to be released by November 15.
Ohio is recognizing 12 schools today for maintaining high academic achievement among their students, including many from economically disadvantaged circumstances that can make learning difficult.
The State Board of Education of Ohio today recognized one district and three schools with the All A Award for earning straight A’s on their 2016-2017 Ohio School Report Cards. In addition, 64 districts and 214 schools received the Momentum Award for exceeding expectations in student growth for the year.
