State of Ohio to Help Schools Make up for Federal Sequestration Cuts to Education

The Ohio Department Education announced Monday that it is allocating a total of $19 million to minimize the impact of federal sequestration cuts on Ohio schools. The sequestration and its resulting cuts in federal education funding are the result of acts passed by Congress and signed by President Obama in 2011 and 2012.

Applications Now Being Accepted for Additional EdChoice Scholarships Available to Income Eligible Families

More Ohio students will be eligible for scholarships thanks to legislation that passed last week and was signed into law by Gov. John Kasich as part of the state’s budget bill on Sunday. By expanding the EdChoice Scholarship program already in place, approximately 2,000 additional kindergarten students will receive a scholarship to attend a private school each year.
