As part of the third annual Digital Learning Day celebration, Ohio students can showcase their creative talents and technology skills through the “I am a Digital Learner” video contest. Students may enter their own videos or as part of a team.
Videos must be one to three minutes in length and feature the technology the student(s) uses. Teachers or school administrators must submit the videos for student entrants. The submission deadline for videos is 11:59 p.m. EST on Monday, Jan. 6, 2014.

Ohio looks forward to celebrating the third annual Digital Learning Day, a national campaign to spotlight successful instructional practice and effective use of technology across the country.
This event provides an opportunity to celebrate Ohio’s commitment to increasing student access to quality digital and blended learning. Join Ohio educators and students as we celebrate and explore innovative learning facilitated by technology and the capabilities of mobile learning.

OETC 2014, Ohio Educational Technology Conference, is Jan. 27 to 29, 2014, at the Greater Columbus Convention Center. This three-day conference provides more than 5,000 attendees with the opportunity to network and learn best practices from their peers and acquire resources to advance learning through technology. The conference offers 500 sessions and displays more than 225 vendors that showcase their products and services.
The No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act requires all students to become technology literate by the end of the eighth grade. This means that basic or introductory technology concepts are addressed by benchmarks and indicators in the K-2, 3-5 and 6-8 grade bands in order to achieve the NCLB goal.
The Real World Design Challenge (RWDC) provides opportunities for students to work with professional engineering mentors from across the country, get training and the free use of CAD 3-D engineering design and project communications software as they engage in solving aeronautics and energy use problems. Students serve on 21st century engineering teams as they design, analyze, model and present their projects.
