Effective April 14, 2014, Ohio will transition its GED® credentialing process from the issuance of paper transcripts and GED® diplomas to a paperless electronic transcript system. As with any new process, there will be changes and questions. This FAQ will assist adult education administrators to prepare for this change.
Students go to the Ohio e-Transcript link on their school website. After completing a 5 minute enrollment, they can begin sending transcripts.
The typical high school student who plans on pursuing additional education applies to between five and 10 colleges. Each of those applications requires an official transcript, which in most Ohio high schools are still printed by staff and sent via standard mail.
