State Board of Education Resolutions regarding Education Reform

The State Board of Education supports education reforms that are student-centered and focus on preparing students for the 21st century with the skills and knowledge they need to be successful in postsecondary education and the workplace.


The State Board has passed two Resolutions regarding Governor Ted Strickland's plan for Reforming Ohio's Education System for the 21st Century.

  • On May 12, 2009, the State Board passed the following Resolution, by vote of 15-3:
    • Resolution to Support the Major Tenets of Governor Strickland's Education Reform Plan for Reforming Ohio's Education System for the 21st Century
  • On February 10, 2009, the State Board passed the following Resolution, by vote of 15-2:
    • Resolution to Commend Governor Ted Strickland for his Recommendations for Reforming Ohio's Education System for the 21st Century
