How to Use the Model Curriculum
Ohio’s New Learning Standards for K-12 World Languages prepare learners to use their language proficiency and intercultural competence to communicate effectively in a global society. The standards embrace the ongoing shift to a communicative and proficiency-based approach to teaching and learning a world language.
The World Languages Model Curriculum is a set of tools that enable teachers to develop a vertically aligned standards-based curriculum. The templates below provide optional guidance for planning yearlong curriculum, as well as developing thematic units based on a communicative theme.
